Vacancy for Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer

Hunshelf Parish Council is an active Council that seeks a highly motivated, enthusiastic
person to take on the post of Clerk to the Council and Responsible Financial Officer.
The post is part time, 26 hours per month. Working from home, the hours of work are flexible
except for the attendance at the monthly, evening meetings, held on the 2nd Monday of each
month.

Salary is in accordance with National Joint Council recommendations, pay scale LC2, SCP 19
(£16.62 per hour) to SCP 21 (£17.18 per hour), dependent upon qualifications and
experience. The successful candidate must be IT literate (a laptop and printer will be
provided), have good communication, administrative and numeracy skills. Must also be able
to store the Parish Council’s equipment and files at your home address and be available to
attend monthly Council meetings.

Duties will include acting as adviser to the Council which involves being up to date on parish
legislation, preparation of the agenda, minute taking, compilation of correspondence and
managing the Council’s accessible website. In addition, as Responsible Financial Officer, you
will prepare the annual budget, prepare the Council’s financial accounts for annual audit and
prepare the Annual Governance & Accountability Return (AGAR).

Prior, relevant experience is an advantage but training in all aspects of local government
administration, leading to the Certificate in Local Council Administration qualification will be
provided.
