Green Moor – RHS Britain in Bloom – Best Village in Britain 2019
The village of Green Moor not only won Gold in the Village category but was awarded Category Winner at the RHS Britain in Bloom Awards held in London in October 2019.
Judges praised the “Incredible Edible” inspired school food garden, the bug hotel and the bird and bat boxes, made by the Village in Bloom volunteers and Team Green Moor volunteers, and placed around the village.
The team were also presented with a Penistone Area Community Celebration 2019 Award in recognition of their commitment to improving their local community and helping others.
The volunteers intend to continue their work in the village by maintaining the work that has been done and overtime developing new projects.
